‘ Blooms of Cheer’ is inspired by a white tub of Gazanias catching the light of the setting sun, in the artist’s garden. The sun rays, to which these flowers are very sensitive, cast interesting shadows, which the artist tries to capture in impressionistic watercolour strokes.
