My art work carry traditional motifs and designs from Orishan handicrafts, in particular the Odishan applique work and coir craft ; cutting, stitching and stuffing my forms with cotton, akin to handmade toys and attaching them onto the painted canvas. I enjoy the experience of creating different levels; craft as art and as a tool to address contemporary issues and creating a feeling of three-dimensional and the sculptural quality of textile for the otherwise two-dimensional canvas.
