In this work I have superimposed social media emoticons on a still life of Henri Matisse recreated with acrylic. These Emojis tend to represent the advantage of accessing images today via the Internet. My work utilizes the internet for creating a still life whereas the history of still life making suggests the arrangement of real objects and then painting them on necessary pictorial surfaces.
